Academics: Egg Drop Challenge

Updated: Oct 14, 2020

Our Grade Seven students recently took part in an "Egg Drop Challenge" as part of the science curriculum. Led by Mr. Joseph, the students constructed their own vehicles to transport the egg with a goal of ensuring it survives being dropped from different heights. The first round included the 6ft drop, followed by the second round with the15ft drop, and then the final round was the drop from the roof of the school. Three students from each Grade 7 class advanced to the second round with no cracks in their egg upon landing in the vehicle. While none advanced to the final round, the students gained an understanding of the scientific method through discussing what worked well and what didn't with regards to the construction of their vehicles (and had a few giggles throughout the process)!
