ALTRUISM: Grammar gives back to Feed Nova Scotia with help from Gordon Stirrett

We're thrilled to share that over the holidays, Grammar raised $19,348.04 in support of Feed Nova Scotia following a 10-day fundraiser, in addition to several kilograms of non-perishable food items, with the generous help of Gordon Stirrett Wealth Management. Inspired by their older peers who held a holiday drive for another local organization, the Middle School students also wanted to give back this holiday season and chose Feed Nova Scotia. The entire community became involved once news spread of Mr. Stirrett's offer to generously match up to $5,000 in donations, which was increased to $10,000 after seeing the extraordinary early success of the campaign.

At Grammar, altruism is one of four educational pillars that guide our students and faculty, and is reinforced through the school’s motto of “Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve.” In the words of Mr. Laffoley, “this has been a difficult time for many Nova Scotians, and we are pleased to contribute to such an important community organization."

We are grateful to Gordon Stirrett, a great friend and long-time partner of Grammar, for helping us not only reach our fundraising goal but surpassing it, and in doing so, supporting Nova Scotians in need this holiday season. Thank you so much to everyone from the Grammar community who helped make this possible!
