Altruism: Senior students learn about risk-taking
Updated: May 19
As part of the IB Learner Profile, our senior school students are encouraged to embody various qualities. A few months ago they began exploring the qualities of "caring", "communication", "reflective" and finally, "risk-taking." To cap off the unit, we were fortunate to have Matt Okell, Ms. Sanford's husband, join us to speak to the senior students about his experiences with risk-taking. From quitting his job with plans to pursue a dream to biking across the country in support of a cause near and dear to his heart, Matt (pictured below) exemplifies risk-taking and it was safe to say that he had his audience captivated with his story. Congratulations to our senior school students who took the time to recognize these various qualities in their peers and teachers.
