October Events Recap

Updated: Nov 27, 2019

Three Great Chefs, October 4, 2019

Our ninth annual edition of Three Great Chefs, One Great Evening was a sold-out success thanks to our event sponsors, attendees, and our outstanding lineup of local chefs. Chefs Andy Hay, Geoff Hopgood, and Andrew Shannon collaborated on a five-course meal paired with a generous portion of wine, which brought 120 Grammar community members together to raise funds for Student Travel Assistance. This year, we surpassed our fundraising goal and raised over $15,500 to support the school. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year a success!

Family Fun Night October 26, 2019

Thank you to all members of our Parents Activities’ Committee (PAC) who hosted another successful Family Fun Night. Over 150 community members joined the party in costume and enjoyed fun games, amazing food and a Halloween movie to end the night. A special thank you to our Sr. School Students who also helped the PAC clean up after the party!

Early Years Information Evening, Tuesday, October 29

Our annual Early Years Information Evening took place on October 29 and was a great opportunity for prospective parents to learn more about our philosophy and curriculum of the Junior Primary, Senior Primary, and Grade One programs. Attendees also had a chance to visit our classrooms and meet some of our teachers.

Book Fair

This year’s Book Fair was held in our school atrium from October 22-25. The fair is a major fundraiser for the school library and classrooms, as teachers use the proceeds from the fair to purchase books and other educational tools. This year we were pleased to be able to include the grade five and six students due to the increased space of our new campus. Thanks to our generous families, we met our fundraising goal of $10,000. A special thank you to our facilities staff who volunteered their time to help ensure the fair was a success!
